Recap of the “Norwegian Cruise Lines Glow Party”
An All-White Party at Sea!
I planned a trip on one of the new Mega Cruise Ships, the Norwegian Getaway. One of the reasons I chose the ship is it has some amazing features such as a Tropicana Dinner Theater along with an Ice Bar. Norwegian is also known for its All White Parties. Veteran Cruisers know to pack an all-white outfit. I waited until the 6th night of the cruise for this. I decided on a casual all white outfit for the party. I donned white straight leg jeans and long sleeve V-neck t-shirt. I topped it off with some silver sunglasses. Yes, the party was at night but this was a fashion statement. Hell, I flirted with wearing my white beats headphones too, but decided in the end to just take some photos in them instead.
The party started at 10:30 and it was on the 16th floor in the back of the Norwegian Getaway at the Spice H2O Lounge. The area has an outdoor theater, with a large dance floor and video wall. The doors open and you are smacked in the face with the thumping sound. The beat is pounding and you can feel the high energy of the crowd. The crowd is around 400 most jumping up and down to the beat. Roughly 200 glow sticks are reflecting off the mostly all white attire. Blasting is the words to popular songs of hip-hop, pop, and dance music set to a techno beat. It’s techno, but you can definitely dance to it. There is a DJ, but the Assistant Cruise Director is the Master of Ceremony for this event. It is him that is keeping the party moving and the crowd engaged. Now this is a party!
All week I looked forward to the All White Party on board the Norwegian Getaway. NCL added the glow twist by bouncing colored lights off the guests at the party. I had a blast at the party. Everyone seems to really enjoy themselves. Black People, White People young and old all on the top deck of the cruise ship partying together…moving to the music and dancing around. The all white wardrobes varied, but there is one indisputable fact. Black People look good in white.
